The Open Arms Curriculum: A Final Word

A Curriculum Always in Process

The Open Arms Curriculum is not a static entity. The Curriculum Guide will attain and hold a relatively standard form and content, as will the Observation and Assessment Program. A full set of Scripture-based materials for the faith-building portion of the curriculum will also be available.

But the array of materials for weekly planning, the ideas for learning centers, and the suggestions for developing a Christ-centered environment will always be in the process of refinement and enhancement through the efforts of our users. By contributing the most successful plans and activities from their daily and weekly work with children, teachers themselves are working together to achieve the goals of Christian education for the very young.

Weekly plans and activities will be housed on the web, as described above. These resources will be accessible by password, and selected Curriculum Specialists and teachers will be invited to augment the collection at their pleasure.

From time to time, the collection will be reviewed and culled to maintain the highest quality in every respect. The Open Arms Institute reserves the sole right to manage this library. However, we will welcome comments and suggestions from users, via the link provided, to help us stay in touch with the needs in the field.

Conclusion

May the Lord Jesus Christ extend His arms once again to embrace our efforts to tell His story. May He bless us as we reach out to children and families in His name. May He endow all of us in fullest measure with His Spirit as we prepare and implement this Open Arms Curriculum, founded upon His Word. And may His Spirit live in those who teach and use this Curriculum, and flow through them to all those in their care, so that all may one day come to be embraced in His body, the Church, and in His arms for eternity.
